If you've recently updated to iOS7, you may be wondering why you can no longer swipe to the right off your Home screen in order to use Spotlight search to search emails, contacts, music, messages and more.
What is Spotlight search on the iPhone? Spotlight, previous perhaps called Siri Search Suggestions, is an easy way to find almost anything on your iOS device. Do you very anxious to find a contact, messages, email or even a app? You can use this function.
Where is the Spotlight search? Perviously, you'd have to go to the left to find Spotlight, on it's own separate page. Does Apple moved the Spotlight function in iOS 7? Actually, Apple hasn't removed the feature. Here's how you can find it.
Step 1 Go to any home screen page of your iPhone, iPad or iPod that runs iOS 7.
Step 2 Simply swipe down from anywhere except from the top, which gets you the notification center instead.
Step 3 You will see Apple brings up the keyboard and sets the cursor into the search text field. Here you can search your iPhone deeply.

If you want to search smarter, you need to set the Spotlight search preferences. Below's tip is for you.
Step 1 Select Settings app on your device.
Step 2 Tap on the General tab.
Step 3 Select Spotlight Search. If you don't want to search everything on your iPhone, you can enable or disable any searchable content, including messages, music, events, notes and email, etc. (See what to do if Spotlight search not working on iPhone)
